Today’s “Special 9/11 Feature” showcases the song, “New York, New York,” from the talented, singer/songwriter, Ryan Adams, off his album, Gold, which was released through the Lost Highway Records.  The video was shot September 7, 2001, a mere four days before the tragedy of 9/11, and has the World Trade Center buildings directly behind him in the music video.

It is beyond crazy that it has been 10 years since that day, but days like that will forever be etched in the memory of every individual.  There are few days in history that each and every person remembers exactly where they were when they heard the horrific news.

We must remember the lives, and remember the heroics that occurred on that day, and we must remember that feeling, on that day, where the collective heartbeats of an entire nation, beat as one.  We must remember those things, and never forget that day:  9/11/2001.

As always, words always strike me, and these words find their place in his song, “New York, New York,”

“Found myself a picture that would fit in the folds
Of my wallet and it stayed pretty good
Still amazed I didn’t lose it on the roof of the place
When I was drunk and I was thinking of you
Every day the children they were singing their tune
Out on the streets and you could hear from inside
Used to take the subway up to Houston and 3rd
I would wait for you and I’d try to hide

And love won’t play any games with me
Anymore if you don’t want it to
The world won’t wait and I watched you shake
But honey, I don’t blame you
Hell, I still love you, New York
Hell, I still love you, New York
New York…”

For updates, tour dates, and other news click on Adams’ website, you can buy this song on iTunes, and follow him on his Facebook Page.  Until the next time you’ll be able to see him, or until the next time you’ll be able to listen to him, here is Ryan Adams, with his fitting song for this day, “New York, New York.”  I wish you all the best.  Take care, and have a wonderful day.  Enjoy:
