Today’s “Featured Artist and Song of the Day” showcases Australia’s own, Xavier Rudd, with his latest single, “Follow The Sun,” which is currently only available for purchase in Australia ( The Troubadour’s Road will be sure to let you know when it is available in the United States).  The song was released to celebrate his upcoming tour in Australia and New Zealand, where he will mix music with play, as he plays to do some surfing, as well as catch up with friends.  The video was shot on Stradbroke Island, Queensland, Australia, and was directed and edited by Nikki Michail.

This song is another testament to the amazing craftsmanship of Rudd’s work.  With his guitar in his hands, and his lyrics coming from his heart, music fans are able to sit back and enjoy his message.  A message of positivity, of understanding, of realizing your connections to the world, of community, and of helping one another.  Rudd’s words are great words, and the music world is fortunate he puts his thoughts into the form of a song.

These words find their place in his song, “Follow The Sun,”

“Follow, follow the sun
And which way the wind blows
When this day is done
Breathe, breathe in the air
Set your intentions
Dream with care
Tomorrow’s a new day for everyone
A brand new moon and brand new sun

So follow, follow the sun
The direction of the birds
The direction of love
Breathe, breathe in the air
Cherish this moment
Cherish this breath
Tomorrow’s a new day day for everyone
A brand new moon, brand new sun…”
