Today’s “Featured Artist and Song of the Day” showcases Denton, Texas’ own, Sarah Jaffe, with her song, “The Way Sounds Leave A Room,” off her album, The Body Wins, which was released yesterday, through Kirtland Records.  Her latest album follows her Even Born Again EP (2008), Suburban Nature (2010), and The Way Sound Leaves a Room (2010).  Along with Jaffe are the talented musicians:  Robert Gomez, Jeff Ryan, Becki Howard, and Scott Danbom.

To promote the new album, Jaffe has some tour dates in Austin and Dallas set for the beginning of May.  When other dates are made available, The Troubadour’s Road will be sure to publish them.  She is a true troubadour, and will be one to continue to follow as she takes on her musical journey.

These words find their place in the song, “The Way Sounds Leaves A Room,”

“For years it would settle there
Til you called it out by name and feared
Nothing but its death was worth your time
And when you came to again
You tore it down on a whim
Always knew the body would win

Alright, alright

In a season’s shift your wheels had turned
And you came to me in the afternoon
Your beauty always took me by surprise
In a spell of days I pulled it through
The thread of hope I clung onto
Always knew the body would win…”
