‘Featured Artist,’ Pete Murray, ‘Opportunity’

Today’s “Featured Artist and Song of the Day” showcases Australia’s own, Pete Murray, with his song, “Opportunity,” off his album, See The Sun, through Sony BMG Records.  We’re kind of heading into the vault today, as this album was released back in 2005.  He has recently released, Blue Sky Blue, in September, of this year.  Songs from that album will be featured in future articles of The Troubadour’s Road.

His story is an interesting one, as the Queensland, Australian went from Rugby star to music star, by a bit of misfortune.  Injuries forced him to the sidelines and in that time he picked up a guitar and learned how to play.  He still didn’t have aspirations of music, but instead put his effort towards sports medicine.  Friends ultimately convinced him to follow his music, and the rest, as they say, is history.

These words find there place in his song, “Opportunity,”

“And so it goes another lonely day
Your saving time but your miles away
Your fly was drowning in some bitter tea
For seeing lost opportunity

Find your mirror go and look inside
And see the talent you always hide
Don’t go kid yourself, well not today
Satisfaction’s not to far away

Hold on now your exits here
It’s waiting just for you
Don’t pause too long
It’s fading now
It’s ending all too soon you’ll see…”

For updates, tour dates, and other news click on his website, you can get his music on iTunes, and follow him on his Facebook Page.  Murray is currently on break from touring, but when dates are made available The Troubadour’s Road will be sure to publish them.    Until the next time you’ll be able to see him, or until the next time you’ll be able to listen to him, here is Pete Murray, with his song, “Opportunity,” enjoy,
