
Today’s “Featured Artist and Song of the Day” showcases Reykjavík, Iceland’s own, Of Monsters and Men with their song, “Little Talks,” off their EP, Into The Woods, which was released in the US, December, 20, 2011, through Iceland’s Record Records, and Universal Republic Records here in the US. Their full-length debut album, My Head Is an Animal, will be made available worldwide, April 3, 2012.
The Troubadour’s Road featured the song on November 14, 2011, but they now have an official video, which was released yesterday, and is featured below. The talented band consists of Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir, Ragnar þórhallsson, Brynjar Leifsson, Arnar Rósenkranz Hilmarsson, Kristján Páll Kristjánsson, andÁrni Guðjónsson.
Of Monsters and Men have also released the dates of a US tour, which starts in mid-March at the SXSW festival, with shows throughout the country and a couple stops in Canada.
I wrote on November 14, 2011, “I have a feeling that Of Monsters and Men will be on the world’s radar very soon, and will be a band to continue to follow as they venture down their musical road.” They are, indeed, on the world’s radar, and deservingly so.
