Today’s “Featured Artist and Song of the Day” showcases the talented, LP, with her song, “Into the Wild.”  It can be downloaded for FREE here.  LP is the band name for Laura Pergolizzi, who is from New York City, but now resides in LA.  LP has recently signed a deal with the Warner Music Group, and is in the writing and recording stages of her major label debut album, which is set for release in 2012.

This is an artist to look out for in 2012, for there is no ceiling for this type of unique talent.  First, vocals.  Chills run when she belts out, “Someone left the gate open…”  Next, the whistling.  I’m a big fan of artists that are brave enough and able to incorporate a whistle in their tunes.  Then throw in her rocking the uke.  Simply incredible.  You then combine those with her locks, style and presence, and you have something pretty special.

Just remember the name, LP, for this song is just the beginning of what is to come.  She will be one to continue to follow, for sure, as she travels down the troubadour’s road.

These words find their place in the song, “Into The Wild,”

“Are we on the lonely side say ohhh now the past long away
Are we so lost in the dark of hearts that ohhh there’s no light of day
Somebody left the gate open

You know we got lost on the way
Come save us runaway train gone insane….
How do we how do we not fade
How do we how do we how do we not fade away
How do we go how do we all go!
Into the Wild
How are we livin’?  livin livin livin
Into the Wild
How are we livin’?  livin livin livin…”
