Today’s “Featured Artist and Song of the Day” showcases Newport, Australia’s own, Angus Stone, with his song, “Broken Brights,” off his yet to be released album, which will be out sometime in 2012.  Yes, if you’re wondering, this the same Angus Stone that is a part of the incredible duo, Angus & Julia Stone, with his sister.  In 2010, they released the amazing album, Down The Way, and decided instead of a follow-up, to release solo albums.

Whether solo or in his band, Angus is a true troubadour, and with “Broken Brights” as the indication, his album is set to be a must-have in 2012, for this is just a preview of what is to come.  The Troubadour’s Road will be sure to feature future songs, and let everyone know when more information on the album is made available.

These words begin the song, “Broken Brights,”

“is that the old man walking in the dark?
is that the old man walking in the dark?
is that the old man walking in the dark?
is that the old man walking in the dark?

take me home
where them broken brights
are shining down
make me feel alright

when we were young
when we were young
when we were young
when we were young…”
